You know what? Campus life can feel like a whole new world.

You get to meet with new friends, have new routines and even new responsibilities. One thing that makes your journey a lot smoother is knowing your way around. 

If you want to avoid wandering like a lost sheep (or constantly asking, “Where is the senate building?” 😂), get familiar with these seven key places on campus:


1. The Senate Building — Headquarters of All Decisions

This is the “Aso Rock” of your campus 😄 — where top academic and administrative decisions are made. Matters concerning making and keeping rules in the campus comes from here

You may not visit here too often. However, you will keep hearing of this building in Campus from time to time

When next you pass in front of the Senate building, remember that bad behaviour is punished here. So, hey, be a good boy/girl!


2. Faculty & Departmental Building — Your Academic Base

This is where the real academic work happens. Your faculty and department building is your academic home.

This is where you attend lectures, meet lecturers and academic advisors, check class/ exam timetables, handle department paperwork, etc.

Now tell me, do you know where yours is located?


3. Bursary/Accounts Section — Where School Fees Matters Happen

You probably will know this first.

The Bursary/Accounts office is where you Pay fees, submit receipts, resolve payment issues, get financial clearance, etc.

Don’t wait until deadline day — that's when everywhere becomes like Oshodi market!


4. Sports Arena — Where You Become Fit

You need to exercise to be strong. The sports arena is a good place for this. Every school has their own sports arena, whether developed or not.

Your school’s sports center may have football field, basketball court, gym, jogging tracks, indoor games, fitness and recreational activities, etc

Be involved in sports for relaxation, fitness, and even networking. Some of your best campus friendships may come from here.


5. School Clinic — Your Health Matters!

Health, they say, is wealth!

Your school should have a clinic. Get to know where it is located and do all the necessary registrations to enable you to benefit from it. 

One secret that many people don't know is that your school fees usually carries some payment for health matters. So, treatment at the clinic comes out as free or cheaper than elsewhere.

6. The Library — Your Productivity Haven

Many of you will not visit here until you finish from school, I know. But, even if you insist that you “read better in your hostel,” you’ll still need the library 😌

The library is perfect for:

📚 Quiet reading

💻 Research and reference resources

📖 Borrowing books

📶 Free internet (if your school is not too stingy o 😅)

It also gives your brain that “serious student” energy, you know...

So, visit the library today, if not for anything, at least to just breathe in the fresh air from books. 🤗

7. Your Campus Fellowship — Your Spiritual Family

Beyond academics, life on campus needs some spiritual balance. A fellowship is where you receive:
