(Ep. 44) Dreaming of a First Class? Here’s Why Desire Alone Won’t Get You There
“I must graduate with a First Class!”
That's the dream of almost every student who begins University
It sounds great, and the desire is noble. But as the semester rolls by, reality sets in — tests pile up, deadlines close in, and the “horse” of your wish refuses to move.
Why? Because desire alone doesn’t deliver results.
They say, "If wishes were horses, even the beggars will ride..."
Now, I want you to always remember that:
🎯 1. A Wish Without Work is Just a Fantasy
It’s easy to want good grades, but without discipline, consistency, and smart study habits, it stays only a dream.
Many students love the idea of being “First Class” but not the process — late-night readings, revisions, research, and self-control.
Remember that “Desire sets the fire, but diligence keeps it burning.”
🧩 2. Focus Beats Ambition
A lot of students start strong but scatter their energy — joining every group, attending every hangout, or waiting till exam season to “burn midnight oil.”
The truth? First Class students aren’t necessarily geniuses. They’re simply focused and intentional.
They plan their time, attend classes, ask questions, and stay consistent.
It’s not about working harder. It’s about working smarter and regularly and 'focusedly' 🙂
📚 3. Excellence Takes Habits, Not Hype
You can’t pray your way to a First Class while sleeping through lectures or skipping assignments.
Success is built through daily habits such as reading ahead, revising notes, forming study groups, managing time, and resting well.
Small daily progress compounds into great results.
⚙️ 4. Learn, Don’t Cram
Many students chase grades instead of understanding. The best students learn to understand concepts, not just memorize them.
They connect lessons from class to real-life applications, and that’s what makes their knowledge stick.
🕊️ 5. The God Factor
Desire and diligence matter, but without God’s grace, human effort has limits.
Pray for wisdom, strength, and focus. God blesses effort — not laziness dressed as faith.

✨ Finally
It’s okay to dream big — but remember, wishes don’t score As; work does.
If you truly want a First Class, build habits that match your dream. Combine diligence, discipline, and divine help (the 3 D's) — and watch your desire turn into a degree worth celebrating. 🎓
“The soul of the lazy man desires, and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.” — Proverbs 13:4 (NKJV)
Let's meet at the top!
